WHO WE ARE
The Center for Institutional and Technical Support for Civil Society Organisations (CITS) is an independent not-for-profit advisory organization dedicated to strengthening programmatic and institutional capacities of nonprofit organizations. CITS seeks to leverage on focused and specialist nonprofit management expertise to facilitate a more efficient, sustainable and impactful Civil Society. At CITS, we believe that in more than stronger programme theories and access to financial resources, institutionally stronger implementing partners are needed to deliver development efforts that are evidence-based, tractable, transparent, and accountable.
We strive to tackle back and front end nonprofit organizational challenges with a strenuous focus on evidence-based decision making and look to incorporate existing evidence to support our partners while simultaneously and continuously improving the effectiveness of partners’ programs and projects.
To implement our support to partners, we use research, training and convening methods, selected and conducted by a team of experts according to the field and context of focus. With a partnership approach we are always in contact and in constant exchange with our partners to identify areas for improvement and innovation. We are convinced that development efforts are better delivered, learned from and scaled in partnership, and we strive to ensure that our work reflect these ideals. We therefore work with stakeholders in funding, regulation and implementation arenas across levels and across policy areas to ensure that our interventions are programmatically and institutionally responsive to the local context needs of the partners we support.
